My name is Becca Breslin and I’m a first-year student at the University of Ottawa and am beginning my Honours BA with a major in Communications. This blog is for CMN 2170 and will discuss a variety of theories and aspects of New Media, where we are going and how far we’ve come in the field of New Media.
I have always been a very creative and artistic person and I express this through many mediums.
I enjoy spending time creating artistic pieces while also film making for classes and on my spare time.
My true passion is photography.
High school was where I realized how much I LOVED to take photographs. I became intrigued by the works of photographers from the past, but wanted to create my own images and style of photography that best expressed who I was.
I began to combine my love of art and photography by using dark room techniques while developing my photos and then furthering my artistic ability by becoming acquainted with such programs as Photoshop and Flash and therefore altering my images to express myself even further.
Technology has had a HUGE impact on my life because without it, I would not be able to show the world who I am or what I live for.
Photography is something that I love and that I can and will continue for the rest of my life. (Below – some of my photography)
After graduation from the University of Ottawa, I hope to begin a career in media so that I can learn more about the world of technology that is beginning to shape and rule our world.
